This is the first ever turbine powered superbike in production and it utilizes a Rolls Royce Allison gas turbine engine that offers 320hp at 52 000 rpm and 425 pound-feet of torque. This is quite an amazing feat for a two wheel vehicle and thereby, it doesn’t come as surprise to discover the MTT easily smashing the competitors as the world’s fastest bike. The bike can actually reach a record breaking top speed of 227 mph (370kph) in any track. The bike has the capacity to hold up to thirty four liters of gas and weighs around 230 kilograms.
2. Dodge Tomahawk
This is a V-10 based four wheel vehicle that any serious superbike fan must own. In appearance, this bike looks like no other. For one, the bike comes in four wheels and is powered by an engine that provides 500 horsepower at 5600rpm output and 525 pound-feet of torque. The bike is a kind of quadricycle, meaning it has two back and two front wheels. According to its engineers, the bike gets from 0 to 60mph in 1.75 seconds, making it the fastest superbike ever produced the world over. The bike could reach an awe inspiring top speed of 560km/h (350mph).Unfortunately, its makers only made ten bikes worldwide and each was going at a princely sum of $555,000.The only problem with this superbike is that it is not legally allowed on public roads, meaning it was just a concept motorcycle that was meant to be only used on private roads.
3. Suzuki Hayabusa
This superbike has more that once proven itself as one of the fastest bikes ever produced in this world of ours. Best of all, it is legally accepted as bike that can be used in any public road around the world. Its second name, Hayabusa in Japanese means a Falcon, The Pergerine Falcon. This bird is known to achieve speeds of 200mph (290km/h) and that is why its originators fondly referred to it as the Hayabusa. The first generation Hayabusa was the Suzuki GSX1300R with a 1299cc, incline-4 liquid cooled engine. The today’s Hayabusa come fitted with a 1340cc, 4-stroke,pure liquid cooled, 4-cyclinder, DOHC 16-valve engine. It can easily reach a top speed of 397km/h (248mph). Its engine provides a power output of 197 horsepower at 6750 rpm.
4. BMW K 1200s
Though popularly known for their luxurious cars, BMW also produces some of the best and fastest motorcycles in the world. One of such bike is the BMW K 1200s.This bike comes with an 1171 cc, liquid cooled, 4-cyclinder, engine that easily produces 164.94 hp at 10250 rpm. This is enough power output to see it reach a top speed of 278km/h. Best of all, this BMW superbike is really easy handling, even when maneuvering around sharp corners.
5. Ducati 1098s
Ducati 1098s is a 1099cc L-twin cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder sport bike whose liquid-cooled, Desmodromic engine has the capacity to produce 160 hp at 9750 rpm and 90.4 pound -feet of torque. The superbike weighs approximately 173kgs. It offers the highest torque to weight ration of all sport superbikes. Its top speed is around 271km/h (169mph).
